of that there can be no doubt. Our resident Sandhurst expert who drew up the plan for the RFU and Stuart Lancaster explicitly states there must be a fall person for willfully disobeying staff protocol after reviewing the South Africa/England rugby match.
The rugby strategy was drawn up like this:
‘There must be a coherent plan, worked out by an expert staff who would always be clearky aware of the realities of the situation; and the players themselves must be as fit as possible, mentally and physically, for the task they would be called upon to perform. The coach’s task is to draw the broad outlines of this plan, and to win the absolute respect of his players, so in the supreme crisis his will, as expressed through them, should prevail over that of his adversary. ‘
This was clearly not the case on Saturday and somebody must take the hit. Just who is to be.
